History
As part of the reorganization of Bologna University approved in 2012, the School of Engineering and Architecture has formed out of three previous Faculties: Bologna’s Engineering Faculty, the Second Faculty of Engineering at Forlì, and the Cesena “Aldo Rossi” Faculty of Architecture. The multiple experience and knowledge accrued by these different places of origin now converge in one new School.
Education
University studies are divided into three cycles:
- First cycle and Single cycle degree programmes: First Cycle Degrees, Single Cycle Degrees.
- Second cycle degree programmes: Second Cycle degree programme.
- Third cycle degree programmes: Doctoral studies (PhD) and Specialisation Schools.
Research
Departments belonging to the School of Economics, Management and Statistics engage in activities and projects pertaining to research.

Library services
Libraries, digital resources and study rooms
- The University of Bologna has a wide network of facilities, library and documentary services providing support for studies, teaching, research, professional and cultural activities.
ICT services
There are 80 on-line workstations affording students controlled access to websites that individual teachers have made available for their teaching programmes. It is not activated for free use of the Internet. The workstations are equipped with dual boot so that one can work alternately with Windows or Linux. There is also a video projector for use by teachers in lessons.
Medical services
Non EU Students may apply for voluntary registration with the National Health Service and with a General Practitioner, by paying an annual lump sum fee;. The policy is valid for a calendar year otherwise they may maintain the right to compulsory registration, where provided for by law.
