Centre for European Studies

For over six centuries, the Jagiellonian University has been at the core of cultural and academic life in Krakow. Today with over 2,500 foreign students attending, it is also becoming an important leader in international programmes taught in English in Central Europe. The Centre for European Studies is a branch of the Institute of European Studies at the Jagiellonian University. CES offers an MA in European Studies, a study abroad programme for undergraduates, as well as several MA degree programmes coordinated in consortium with partner universities. Each programme is uniquely structured, requires a different application procedure and has a corresponding admissions deadline and tuition fee. The Centre for European Studies is based at ul. Garbarska 7a and offers excellent study facilities for students, including a Reading Room, Computer Lab and Student Lounge.


Our on-site library provides MA and study abroad students with easy access to all the materials necessary for their studies at CES. Students may also take advantage of our ever-expanding book collections on European history, law, economics, political sciences, international relations and sociology. It is a great resource for our students and serves as a quiet space for individual study as well. Besides regular reading room hours, Students may also volunteer for library shifts.


In addition, students have access to the computer lab and a student lounge. The computer lab allows students to prepare for classes and print, scan and photocopy any necessary materials.

Students may use the computer lab 24 hours a day.


In the student lounge, CES students may relax and study in between classes. It is equipped with wireless internet, comfy couches, microwave, coffee machine and electric tea kettle.
