Founded in 1306 by Pope Clement V, the University of Orléans is one of the oldest European universities.
It is renowned across Europe. It closed its doors during the French Revolution in 1793, like every other university in France. It came back to life in the 1960s with the creation of a campus in the South of Orléans.
The university has 3 faculties, 1 engineering university school (Polytech), 4 University Institutes of Technology (IUT), 1 Higher Schools for Professors and Educators (INSPE), 1 Observatory of the Sciences of the Universe (OSUC), 1 University school of physiotherapy (EUK).

I'd say that it is a great school. For my case the staff was pretty reactive and mindful, the teachers mostly. I had a hard time at first since the school is pretty big, I got lost on the very first day but it all went uphill from here
En français en haut et en anglais en bas / In french above and in English under. Une université moyenne. Pas vraiment une bonne sur bien des plans voire très mauvaise mais pas sur la qualité de l'enseignement. Contrairement aux étudiants en droit et administration sur les autres campus, les Tanneurs sont vraiment moches. Les étudiants sont souvent obligés de se rendre dans un autre bâtiment qui contient juste quelques salles de classe et des tables. Les mesures de sécurité sont également mauvaises et ont mené Ã la mort d'une étudiante en 2020. D'autres problèmes incluent les distributeurs qui ne fonctionne pas toujours ou l'administration qui prend beaucoup trop de temps et est probablement gérée par deux raton-laveurs. En ce qui concerne la qualité de l'enseignement, elle est plutôt haute. Les professeurs sont des docteurs passionnés par leurs sujets la plupart du temps. Beaucoup d'étudiants se plaignent de la difficulté mais c'est dire la valeur du diplôme par la suite. A very mediocre university. Not very good on a lot of points but not very bad on a lot of others. Unlike law students and students in administration, Les Tanneurs are very ugly. Not only that but students there sometiles have to go another building that is basically just a few classes with chairs and table and almost nothing else including basic safety measures leading to the death of a student in 2020. A lot of other issues including food, distributors that doesn't often work and administration that takes way too much time. As for the quality of the education, professors are basically all doctors and most of them look passionnates. There are too many students for them to actually handle so they can't do as much as they can especially since the administration is probably just two racoons but except for that, they're pretty great and while many students complain about the high difficulty of their exams, it's just a testimony of how valuable a diploma from there is.
It's not only that university, it's the whole French system that needs to be reviewed. Boring city, too complicated to get reviews from professors, harsh marking ...
