Ahmedabad University was founded in 2009 by Ahmedabad Education Society (AES), a non-profit educational foundation located in Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad University is envisioned to become a global leader that provides liberal arts education within a research university. Interdisciplinary curriculum, experiential learning environment, and research define an Ahmedabad education.

My study experience was both challenging and rewarding. What I really liked was the opportunity to gain knowledge in my chosen field while developing important skills such as critical thinking, time management, and independence. The lecturers were generally supportive, and the learning environment encouraged curiosity and personal growth. Interacting with students from different backgrounds also helped me broaden my perspective and improve my communication skills. However, there are areas that could be improved. At times, the workload felt overwhelming, especially during exams and deadlines, and more academic support or better scheduling would have been helpful. I also feel that there could be more focus on practical learning and real-world applications to better prepare students for careers after graduation. Overall, I would summarise my study experience as a valuable journey of learning and self-development. Despite the challenges, it helped shape my confidence, skills, and future goals, and I’m grateful for the experience.

The Office of International Affairs is a strategic link between the University and international stakeholders across a variety of activities. The office supports the University’s purpose and mission to add a component of internationalisation to the University’s structure, people, education, research, and operations.
University Residences provide secure spaces for Ahmedabad University students to live in a homelike environment vital for their growth and development. The University currently provides three high quality Residences in its commitment towards simple, comfortable and secure living for those from out of town. Our Residences are a lesson in building a community that has at its core a respect for diversity in ideas, in ways of living, in food preferences, in cultural practices, language and in religion.
Ahmedabad University Library System has a legacy of building knowledge repository for its user community. It is striving to accumulate relevant resources from all corners of the world. The library system has created an open environment for free share of knowledge.
The Health Centre on campus provides expert consultation. Being located in the centre of city, the health centre is associated with several high quality hospitals in the vicinity of the University.
Currently, the University has separate Residences for boys and girls due to logistical concerns. However, the University may convert some or all of the Residences into co-ed facilities if the situation demands. The conversions will be done keeping all due precautions in mind. There will be exclusive boys’ and girls’ floors with adequate entry barriers to prevent unauthorised access.
Ahmedabad offers several clubs and associations to facilitate participation in an array of co-curricular activities, academic associations, and social & cultural events - all designed, developed and curated by our student community.
