History
Kharkiv Aviation Institute was founded in 1930 and initially had two faculties - aircraft construction and engine construction. At the time of its foundation, KhAI had only 12 teachers and 69 students. The development of the institute was extremely rapid. Already in 1932, the first passenger aircraft in Europe with a KhAI-1 landing gear, developed by teachers and graduate students, took off.
Career
The Department of Employment Promotion of Students and Alumni informs faculties and departments:
- about vacancies for university graduates;
- about temporary employment vacancies for students of all courses of the university;
- on measures to promote the employment of graduates and temporary employment of students (job fairs, presentations, workshops, etc.);
- about activities for teachers who conduct companies in order to establish links between companies and the teaching environment, which will identify common problems and find ways to solve them to improve education.

Housing services
Today, the campus has 9 dormitories for 5,508 places with a total area of 68,902.60 m2, 6 residential buildings for 485 apartments with a total area of 27,048 m2 and is located in an area of about 14 hectares. Accommodation in the dormitory is carried out for 3 and 4 people per room (depending on the type of room) with soft inventory and furniture, but with a prepayment of at least a quarter (3 months), the payment for accommodation is 520 UAH. per month (including utilities).
Campus life
A characteristic feature of campus - the settlement of students in dormitories and creating satisfactory living conditions for accommodation, service and support in good sanitary condition of the housing stock. To meet the everyday problems of students and staff of the university on the campus are: hairdressers, cafes, cafeterias, shoe repair shop, laundry and dry cleaning. To ensure the cultural leisure of students on campus, there is a disco, billiards club, chess club, sports ground.

Each hostel has an equipped sports room.

The diverse amateur activities of students and their participation in cultural, sporting, social and other events supported by the university are also a great field for cultivating the project activity. Student life in KhAI is interesting and rich - there are students' scientific circles, Club of the Funny and Inventive, amateur performances, summer camp for students.
