Life as Witsie
One thing everyone who knows Wits Business School knows is that it is renowned for giving you the edge. The rigorous curriculum and interactive syndicate groups do really sufficiently arm one with tools for success in whatever discipline they are in. Arguably one of the best universities on the continent of Africa, it boasts of an alumni that is who is who of the captains of industry. I would recommend anyone interested in making a mark in their world to enrol with WBS.

Specialist Flexible and Intense
The program is intense. I think one is because it provides top down specialist knowledge, corporate finance , investment and banking at high level, but reaching down to core principles. I believe this facilitates those in finance to transition into executive roles with a high level of technical understanding, and those outside of finance to retool for technical roles within the sector. Coming from an engineering background there was a level of approachability to the content that I lacked, that i noticed my peers in finance seemed to have. That does make the program more challenging , but by no means undoable. There's a lot to be gained from the expertise of the faculty and being able to tailor your coursework towards, Corporate finance, banking, or investment. Again a lot more meaningful when you already have some understanding of the financial sector. But still a full buffet of knowledge is offered. The schedule is very flexible, first half of the coursework is done in the first quarter with the rest of the year for electives. While this schedule does allow for full time work and minimizes time off, it does come at the cost of intensity. Each course is 1 week of lectures and 2 weeks for exams and assessments. And while the schedule eases up over the year, there is little difference the complexity of the core vs elective courses. Dedication and Determination are prerequisite, but the returns are significant.
