Key facts

The Masters in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation with Wits Business School is focused on creating and disseminating higher-level entrepreneurial knowledge and skills which translates into venture creation and research capacity building.

The degree is purposefully structured in such a manner that entrepreneurship is at the core of learning and is not a peripheral issue or a popular management concept.

A holistic and integrated curriculum with entrepreneurship at the epicentre allows students to complement their general education and develop entrepreneurial competencies and commitment.
The degree is strongly research focused. As “good science is good conversation”, the purpose of this degree is to make the conversation both deeper and wider through research.

First degree and post-graduate studies (preferably an honours degree but a first-class Bachelor’s degree with a recognised and accredited post-graduate degree or diploma is also recognised)
Post-university entrepreneurial or corporate or informal business experience an advantage but not a requirement
Mathematics and English – a level of above-average competence equivalent to the requirements for the SA matriculation certificate
CV (only required if you have been working for 2 or more years)
Motivation letter
Copies of all academic transcripts and degree certificates
SAQA evaluation certificate (for students whose prior degrees were not awarded by a South African university)
Proof of English language proficiency (for students who have not studied at tertiary level in English)
