History
Originally established as the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) in 1993 and Asia Pacific University College of Technology & Innovation (UCTI) in 2004, APU’s sound approach to nurturing school leavers into qualified professionals has resulted in our graduates being highly sought after by employers.
Education
APU was announced as among the Highest Rated Emerging Universities in Malaysia, being rated 5-STAR (EXCELLENT Rating) under the latest SETARA Ratings by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). APU has maintained this Excellent Rating consecutively in the SETARA 2011, 2013, 2017 as well as in the latest ratings announced on 18th Dec 2020. The SETARA ratings system measures the performance of teaching and learning in universities in Malaysia.

Industry oriented rather than academic
I would advise it if you are interested moreso on industry and career prospects rather than academic. The programmes are fine in terms of curriculum, most of the assessments are project based as well. Very diverse student body with a lot of experiences available. Would recommend in that regard.
Understanding the Dual Degree Track
My Study Experience: A Journey of Strategic Growth and Intellectual Curiosity Over the course of my studies, I’ve cultivated a deep passion for learning—especially through reading. Books have not only expanded my knowledge but also sharpened my ability to think critically and strategically. I’ve developed a particular interest in banking strategies, exploring how financial institutions navigate risk, innovation, and customer engagement. I’ve studied key frameworks and already grasp several strategic models used in modern banking. What I’ve truly enjoyed is the freedom to explore topics that challenge me intellectually. The ability to connect theory with real-world applications has been especially rewarding. I thrive when I can analyse complex systems and uncover insights that drive smarter decisions. However, I believe the learning experience could be enhanced with more hands-on case studies and interactive simulations. Real-world scenarios would bridge the gap between theory and practice, making the learning journey even more impactful. In summary, my study experience has been transformative. It has empowered me to think strategically, learn independently, and pursue excellence with purpose. I’m excited to continue building on this foundation—especially in the fields of finance, strategy, and innovation.

Housing services
There are many options for housing while you study in Kuala Lumpur. Our Student Services provides accommodation services to help you make the right choice and find the accommodation you want. The university-managed accommodation is only for APU students and students coming with their family members need to opt for private accommodation, our staff would assist you to give you contact numbers of property agents.
Campus life
Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU)’s Ultra-Modern University Campus is strategically located in Technology Park Malaysia (TPM), Kuala Lumpur. APU’s Campus blends technology, integration, innovation and creativity under one roof. Designed by award-winning consultants and architects, APU’s new iconic campus provides not just a university learning environment, but also a lively community spot for our students to formulate new ideas, gain intellectual growth and discover new adventures.
Sports facilities
APU campus is situated near the National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil, giving you access to world-class sports facilities for swimming, football, hockey, squash, and a host of other physical activities. Swimming Facilities are currently available at our existing accommodation in Endah Promenade and Fortune Park. Our state-of-the-art swimming complex located within the APU Campus is close to completion and will be available to staff and students by the end of 2021.
