3iS was set up 30 years ago by film professionals and graduates of top French audiovisual schools Fémis (formerly IDHEC) and ENS Louis-Lumière to prepare students for careers in filmmaking and sound.

At 3iS we see ourselves not so much as training students, more as honing the talents of future generations of creatives. With over thirty years of teaching excellence under our belts, we harness our expertise to design custom-tailored courses that empower each of our learners to unlock their creative potential.
3iS trains people to succeed in the creative industries. We don’t just teach them the skills they’ll need in this fast-moving sector—we give them the tools to forge a lasting career.
Research
Through video shoots, official interviews, stage lighting and sound engineering, creating audiovisual and digital content, media communications and more, students gain real-life experience in the fast-paced creative skills economy. They are involved in celebrity events, like the César Awards, and work alongside respected figures in their disciplines, giving them a chance to develop their professional network.
Career
87% of our graduates find professional opportunities in the 1st year after graduation. The Business Relations Department makes professional integration its primary mission.
That's why every student benefits from our network of over 1,800 partner companies. Students also participate in internships throughout their time studying at 3is, building their networks before obtaining their diplomas.

Housing services
A student residence with 200 new, fully-equipped studios overlooking a lake is located near the school, and managed by 3iS, since the start of the 2018 school year. The municipality of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines also offers a large housing selection and many options corresponding to your needs: student residence, one-bedroom, one-bedroom apartment, one-bedroom apartment, etc.
As soon as students register, they are informed about the different options for housing near their school’s campus.

The 3iS Paris campus offers students an exceptional environment to train for the filmmaking and sound production professions, with over 16,000 m2 of facilities on the very doorstep of Paris.
Our audiovisual resources are unique in Europe, including shooting sets, a 300-m2 theater arts stage, a motion capture studio, a 300-seat screening room, and a movie set.
3 BUILDINGS DEVOTED TO FILMMAKING, SOUND, ANIMATION, VIDEO GAMES AND PERFORMANCE ARTS
The 3iS Paris campus is located in Yvelines, where—in addition to the student residence—it boasts three buildings entirely dedicated to the creative arts. In 2021 a brand new facility is set to open, focused on digital animation, video games and special effects.

Student clubs
There’s lots going on throughout the year on campus, including concerts, 3iS Fest, CinéClub and photo club happenings. The Student Office (BDE, Bureau des étudiants) plays a central role in organizing the school’s calendar highlights like the induction weekend, theme nights, and buddying for new students. It also coordinates the various clubs set up each year by students who want to share their passion for music, dance, sports or cinema.
