- 1989 Charles Sturt University established by act of parliament, merging the former Mitchell College of Advanced Education and the RiverinaMurray Institute of Higher Education.
1997 CSU named University of the Year for success in educating first in family university students. HSC Online launched. New offices and library opened at Manly
