RGU has a heritage going back 250 years and was awarded university status in 1992. It is one of the largest providers of online learning in the UK. They have heavily invested in their support networks to make the experience of studying at RGU via online learning the best it can be. They provide a confidential and non-judgmental service to all their students, applicants and enquirers through their Student Help Point. This service is available for all non-academic queries and support, from tuition fees to application forms, finance to filling your free time. The Study Skills team offer advice on a range of study skills, supporting you in meeting your academic potential, and in becoming a confident, independent learner. There is a range of online materials available, and the option to speak to the team via email or telephone.
Library services
As an online student at RGU, you have full access to their extensive Library of e-books, e-journals, videos, newspaper articles and dissertations. They have a range of specific services available to support you with your studies including start-up guides, article and chapter requests and inter-library loan. They are always looking at ways of increasing the accessibility to their materials.
ICT services
RGU provides a robust IT support service via their IT Helpdesk. They offer support for all your university needs and will support with everything from IT accounts, how to connect to the wireless service, accessing and configuring email, print, copy and scan, and the location of IT labs across the campus.
Medical services
The Student Counselling & Wellbeing Centre operate a confidential service and their counselors and wellbeing advisors are available to virtually discuss any difficulties or concerns you may have whilst at RGU.
Campus life
All online learners will study through our virtual learning environment, Campus Moodle. CampusMoodle provides you with a collaborative learning space, where your learning material will be available to download. Within CampusMoodle there are various interactive User Guide areas for discussion and group work and you can participate in online quizzes. You have the ability to upload your assignments and collaborate with your peers using wikis and reflect on your learning with a blog. There is also the opportunity for you to have your own area in CampusMoodle in order to work collaboratively on your coursework with your fellow students.
