Abu Dhabi University is a private, WASC-accredited university. Established in 2003, we have over 7,500 students from over 80 nationalities. Our College of Business holds AACSB & EQUIS. The College of Engineering has earned accreditation from Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) and the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET and offers the only RIBA accredited architecture program.

About

History

The journey began in 2000 with the development of the Charter of Abu Dhabi University by his Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. After three years of planning - and following accreditation for all programs by what is now known as the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), UAE Ministry of Education - we opened our doors to 1,000 students across two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Services

Student services

The Student Affairs Department is comprised of three functional units - Career Development (CD), Student Engagement and Development Office (SEDO), and Student Support Services (SSS). Each unit has unique resources, services, programs, and activities for students, to help them adjust to university life and strengthen their overall educational experience. The Student Affairs Department is primarily student-focused with an emphasis on holistic, experiential, and developmental learning.

Student Support Services

Student Support Services is responsible for catering non-academic support services to Abu Dhabi University registered students.

Housing services

Discover different cultures, meet new people, and establish life-long friendships with all the conveniences of home in Abu Dhabi University's accommodation. Our segregated facilities are perfectly located on campus with access to a range of recreational facilities, shopping centers and food outlets. There is transportation for shopping trips, and other public transportation facilities are also available and easy to use.

Library services

The Abu Dhabi University library includes facilities on the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses. The library provides educational services to Abu Dhabi University communities that include orientation, training for new users, information literacy, research assistance, subject guides, borrowing and lending, reference services, database searching and internet access. 

ICT services

Student on campus are provided with free access to Internet via Wireless network. Students can connect to Wireless SSID ‘Student’ for a secure connection or an alternative ‘OPEN-ACCESS’ often used for guest or visitors.

ADU has several computer laboratories based on the course or program offered by ADU. The labs have a secure connection and mostly have limited licensed software.

Medical services

Healthcare Clinic on Campus aims to provide Basic First Aid Healthcare services and health awareness workshops. Abu Dhabi University community will gain from continued commitment in providing quality and reliable healthcare services.

Campus life

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has 4 strategic locations with three campuses in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai and an academic center in Al Dhafra region. All ADU campuses are in close proximity to shopping malls and various kinds of shops. Public transportation is also available.  

  • Abu Dhabi Campus

Abu Dhabi University’s flagship campus is located in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi – the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

  • Al Ain Campus

The 7,500 m2 campus is equipped with all the facilities required to provide a superior education experience.

  • Dubai Campus

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) launched its brand new, state‐of‐the art Dubai campus in 2017.

  • Al Dhafra Center

Al Dhafra Center is the fourth facility in ADU’s expanding portfolio. 

Sports facilities

ADU’s sports and wellness programs provide you with opportunities for fun and fitness and complement your academic experience. By joining our sports teams you will get the opportunity to build valuable relationships with your peers, as well as develop leadership and teamworking skills.

We offer a wide variety of sports activities, with professional coaches to inspire a passion for the sport and help you maximize your athletic potential. For those who do not want to play competitively, we host a series of friendly matches and tournaments on campus.

Accreditation

Abu Dhabi University is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In addition, our College of Business is both EQUIS and AACSB accredited. Only 1% of business schools worldwide have this double accreditation.

At a program level, our College of Engineering has received international accreditation from the world-renowned ABET for many of its engineering programs, and the Bachelor of Architecture has received validation from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
