Student services

BU Summer Term staff assist visiting international students throughout the application process, helping to make their enrollment and transition to summer study as smooth as possible.

Housing services

BU Summer Term students have the option to live on campus, which provides a unique opportunity for camaraderie and community as students dine, study, and enjoy their time together. There is ample on-campus housing available in the summer. Instructions on how to apply for on-campus housing is provided to students once they’ve been registered.

Library services

Summer Term students have access to the University’s 21 libraries and over 100 academic centers and institutes. These resources include over 3 million print and electronic titles, over 200,000 print and electronic serials, and over 100,000 physical and electronic media titles. The BU Libraries provide research tools and services that include more than 700 databases, library tutorials, library instruction from research basics to graduate-level classes, reference services in all our major libraries, and via chat, access to digital resources, specialist consultations, and librarian-created guides with curated resources.

ICT services

Students have access to a variety of computing and network resources for communication, coursework, instruction, and research. The University provides secure wireless network access, and all Summer Term students have access to the personal computing lab, located on the first floor of Mugar Memorial Library. Many schools and colleges at the University also have computer labs available to students enrolled in their courses.

Medical services

The University’s extensive health and wellness services are staffed by highly qualified healthcare professionals. Behavioral medicine staff, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical nurse specialists, licensed mental health clinicians, and licensed clinical social workers are available to address any psychological and adjustment issues that arise. BU’s world-class fitness and recreation facility, FitRec, offers a wide range of summer recreation courses, including outdoor activities such as sailing and rowing, wellness classes such as yoga and fitness, and much more.

Student clubs

The Summer Term office facilitates opportunities for visiting international students to meet and socialize with one another. Organized activities and casual outings provide students the chance to enjoy all that Boston has to offer, while making new friends from around the world.

Boston University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. The individual schools and colleges of the University carry additional accreditation in their respective fields. The University is a member of the Association of American Universities, an invitation-only group of 62 of North America’s most prestigious research universities.
