Kolping University of Applied Sciences

History

Kolping University of Applied Sciences has been expanding since the begining of 2011. In autumn of the year 2011 students were welcomed to a newly built modern building in Kaunas old town. The classrooms in the new building are spacious, adapted for the handicapped, we have an updated library and reading rooms, computer classes, a conference room.

Education

We offer our prospective students 7 academic programs: Business Management; Ecotourism; English Business language; Finance; International business; Law; and Social work. Moreover, in the spring semester of academic year 2012/2013 we are offering three programs in English language: Business Management, Finance and Social work.

Research

Research interests:

The Place of International Communication in the Development of Small and Medium Business.
Social Work and Legal Regulation in the Context of Child and Family Welfare Policy.
The Development of Management Skills While Fostering Entrepreneurship in Small and Medium Business.

Housing services

With the cooperation of Aleksandras Stulginskis University, a place in the student dormitory can be arranged uppon request. The dormitories are located near Kaunas city in the campus surrounded by natural areas which create healthy, safe and pleasant space for work and leisure. Good infrastructure of Kaunas city transport allows fast access to Kolping University of Applied Sciences, old town, city center, recreation and entertainment objects.

Medical services

All Erasmus exchange students are supposed to have medical insurance valid in Lithuania for the study period. Students from EU countries are not required to have any special health insurance, European insurance card or form E111 confirming that a student has EU health insurance, valid in Lithuania.

Campus life

We have been organizing international scientific and practical conferences for 10 years. Students Union organizes Kolping Students Week and students festivities take place in the Kolping house annualy in autumn. Each year lecturers from foreign universities arrive to give lectures, students participate in seminars in Lithuanian Kolping Society of Cultural and Educational Centre in Trokunai, region of Anykciai. The Centre is located in the former eighteenth century Bernardine monastery.

Student clubs

Students Union has a successfully playing basketball team, which has won more than one cup in various basketball tournaments.From this school year, exept from the variety of projects, social and academic events, students have an opportunity to participate in dancing classes.

Kolping University of Applied Sciences is accreditated higher education institution by Lithuanian National Accreditation Institution ( Center for Quality Assessment in Higher Education).
