History
The first enterprise for agricultural education during the Ottoman State started when Mekteb-i Zirai Şahane (imperial agricultural school) was founded in 1848 in Yeşilköy district. However, due to various reasons, the school was closed in its second year.
A decree in 1867 made it necessary to open an agricultural school and farm samples in the centre of each city. However, there was no action taken on that up until 1884.

Discovering a Multicultural and Dynamic Learning
The Izmir University of Economics is a great institution for students who are looking for quality education and vibrant campus life. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the modern and well-equipped facilities that are available to students. The campus is clean and well-maintained, making it a pleasant environment for studying and socializing. One of the standout features of the university is the international student body, which creates a truly multicultural and diverse community. I have had the chance to meet and interact with people from all over the world, which has expanded my horizons and given me a deeper appreciation for different cultures. The language teaching program is top-notch, and the faculty are highly knowledgeable and dedicated to helping students succeed. I have found the language courses to be both satisfying and enjoyable, and I have been able to improve my language skills significantly. There are also many student groups and clubs that students can join, which provide opportunities to develop new skills and pursue personal interests. I have found these groups to be a great way to make new friends and get involved in the campus community. One area where the university could improve is the interactive nature of some of the labs. While many labs are well-designed and engaging, there are some that could be more interactive and hands-on. Overall, I highly recommend the Izmir University of Economics to anyone who is looking for a dynamic and supportive learning environment. The university offers a wide range of academic programs and extracurricular activities, and the faculty and staff are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals.
Supportive Academic Experience
Studying at Sabahattin Zaim University has been both enriching and enjoyable. The university offers a strong academic environment that blends rigorous learning with real-world applications. Professors are genuinely invested in students’ growth, bringing both expertise and personal attention to each class. The campus itself is impressive, with modern facilities and plenty of green spaces that make it a great place to study. The student community is vibrant, with lots of clubs, events, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to find friends and get involved. Support services, like academic advising and career counseling, are readily available and genuinely helpful. Scholarships are accessible, too, making it easier to focus on studies without financial stress.
IUG campus
IUG is one of the best universities in Palestine and it ranks as the second top university in Palestine. I enjoy studying at the IUG as it has an excellent crew of lecturers who studied at the top universities in the world in the UK and the USA, our campus has many places and landscapes where students can enjoy their free time between classes, as well as the library where students can sit there to study and accomplish their tasks in silence and comfort.

Student services
The International Students Office and its staff assist and guide international students from freshman to alumni. Students become familiar with the student Office at the beginning of their university life at IZU. They are welcome to come and ask advice with issues they face on and off campus (visa, residence permit etc.)
Library services
Istanbul's largest library with a capacity of 1 million books and 1000 researchers.
The library aims to provide, organize and develop the necessary information resources in order to support the university's education and research activities and to offer them to the university's teaching staff, students and other researchers with methods appropriate to our age.
Medical services
Health, Culture and Sports Department was established with Hıgher Education Law 46 47 article. The Department of Health, Culture and Sports aim to meet the social needs of the students and staff, including; the protection of physical and mental health, nutrition, recreation and leisure time.
Campus life
IZU is located on the western part of Istanbul near main transportation routes and is also close by to the new Istanbul Airport. The Marmaray fast train line which travels from central Anatolia through İstanbul to Europe is just next to IZU campus.
Sports facilities
Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Halkalı Central Campus has many sports facilities available for our students:

Student clubs
We have 33 student clubs active in IZU. In addition to these clubs, we have a total of 9 Students Community's. Student Clubs and Student Communities have the opportunity to work with a team spirit by organizing many activities in; cultural, social, and sports area both inside and outside the campus. The experience and achievements of our students in these club and society activities, form an important place in their educational lives, as they also contribute positively to their professional skills. During the year, various activities such as; conferences, sports tournaments, workshops and trips suitable for the purpose of the clubs are organized. Clubs and Communities work intensively at student festivals held at the end of the year.
Accreditation
It is currently accredited by the Turkish Higher Education Council and serves over 8380 students.
