Bethany College was founded in 1881, in a quaint Swedish community, with a mission to educate, develop, and challenge individuals to reach for truth and excellence as they lead lives of faith, learning and service.

Student clubs
More than 50 Student organizations: scholastic and honorary, government, special interest and departmental. Greek organizations include Phi Kappa Tau, Delta Tau Delta, Phi Mu, Alpha Xi Delta, Alpha Sigma Phi, Zeta Tau Alpha, Beta Theta Pi.
Accreditation
Bethany College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, a member of the North Central Association. Bethany last successfully completed an accreditation visit in February 2017. Its next comprehensive visit will be during the 2020-2021 Academic Year. Bethany has been accredited since 1932.
