The lectures are very convenient and the study time is favorable.With this course, it’s hands on.
Woodbury University offers a genuinely strong academic environment for architecture students, largely because of its people. The faculty are not just educators but practicing professionals who bring real industry experience into the studio. That shows up in the way projects are critiqued, how feedback is delivered, and how students are pushed to think beyond purely academic solutions. On top of that, the school consistently brings in visiting architects and critics who are actively working in the field, which adds a level of exposure that is hard to replicate elsewhere. The student community is another major strength. There is a collaborative, supportive culture that makes the intensity of the program more manageable. Students tend to share resources, help each other through deadlines, and build strong relationships that feel more like a professional network than a typical college environment. That said, there are some clear structural issues that are hard to ignore. The facilities are ambitious on paper—wood shop, laser labs, 3D printers, robotics—but in practice, many of these resources are poorly maintained. Equipment is frequently out of service for extended periods, which can significantly disrupt workflow, especially in a program where production is constant and deadlines are tight. The workload itself is also extremely demanding. Long hours and sleep deprivation are not just common, they are often treated as an unspoken requirement for success. While this may reflect the realities of the architecture field to some extent, it can also normalize unhealthy habits and create an unsustainable academic environment. Overall, Woodbury provides strong professional preparation through its faculty and community, but struggles with maintaining the infrastructure and balance needed to fully support its students

The mission of the office of Counseling Services is to foster the well-being of all Woodbury University students with the belief that emotional health and wellness are conducive to academic success. When students are socially, emotionally and mentally healthy, they are able to learn, access their own unique creativity, and recognize and develop to their full potential.
Woodbury University provides student housing options that fit a variety of budgets and living preferences, including two on-campus residence halls – North Hall and South Hall – on the Burbank campus.
The library’s growing collection includes approximately 65,000 books, 3,000 films, 200 current print periodical subscriptions, and access to 46 research databases. The online catalog provides information about books, videos, periodicals, and other materials that comprise the library’s collections at both the Burbank and San Diegocampuses.
Living on the campus, you will be close to Computer labs.
The offices of First Aid & Counseling Services offer first aid and wellness resources to Woodbury University students. The medical and counseling staff includes licensed professional practitioners.
North Hall is a three-story, air-conditioned student housing separated into 11 community sections. Each section houses up to 15 students, who share a community kitchen and bathroom. North Hall also has a common central lounge, drink and snack machines, and laundry facilities.
South Hall is a traditional single-story, coed student residence built around a courtyard in the center of the campus. Rooms are not air-conditioned but are equipped with ceiling fans. Separate community bathrooms are conveniently located in the male and female hallways. South Hall is equipped with laundry facilities, drink and snack machines, and a common kitchen. South Hall is also home to the Fitness Center.
Woodbury’s Healthy Living and Student Activities programs hosts a variety events on campus, as well as free classes that are open to students, staff, faculty and alumni. Classes include yoga, meditation, exercise, music, dance, theater and improv comedy.
The Healthy Living Program also hosts free events such as museum scavenger hunts, art nights, dance nights, games nights and more!
Helping to foster this nurturing and collaborative environment is Woodbury’s highly active student government organization—known as the Associated Students of Woodbury University (ASWU)—as well as the Campus Activities Board (CAB). Both of these organizations are committed to continuously enhancing the social and cultural environment on campus by providing a variety of programs.
Woodbury is accredited by six national and regional organizations. National accreditation is crucial – for example, most major companies do not hire from non-AACSB business schools.
