The True Pacific Northwest Experience
If a beautiful campus, surrounded by trees and nature, within driving distance of a major city, is what you desire, Lewis & Clark College is the college for you! LC is a great liberal arts school on the outskirts of Portland, with pretty reliable transportation into the city for freshman without a car! On-campus housing is decent, and there are definitely lots of opportunities and ways to meet people with similar interests. My favorite part is the faculty, specifically certain professors in the Psych department and the Religious Studies department. Religious Studies in particular has been a surprising interest to pursue, and advising faculty has been supportive in working these classes into my busy schedule! I would reccomend this school!

Enveloped by the Lush Forest of Pacific Northwest
Lewis & Clark College first and foremost captivates with its natural beauty. On a misty, mossy morning, as you walk to class past the Frank Manor House, you might feel like you're in an episode of Hogwarts rather than Portland. Academically, studying becomes significantly more engaging with a state park just a three-minute walk from your dorm. I particularly enjoyed the class discussions, as the small class sizes allowed for more vibrant and meaningful interactions. Working at Bon Apptit as a student provided me with invaluable life experience and lifelong friendships. The college's small, tightly-knit community ensured that professors had the time to meet with students individually and address our concerns. Overall, my experience at Lewis & Clark College was enriching, especially for someone who grew up in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina. I made many important connections and left with Portland forever imprinted in my heart.
