Covenant College

The focus of Covenant College is found in its motto, based on Colossians 1:18, "In all things Christ preeminent." Acknowledging Christ preeminent as the creator of all things, as the redeemer of people fallen into sin, as the touchstone of all truth, and as the sovereign ruler over all areas of life, the College strives to discern and to unfold the implications of His preeminence in all things.

About

History

Since 1955, Covenant College has provided a first-rate, life-changing college education. From humble beginnings in Pasadena, California, Covenant is now blessed with hundreds of acres atop beautiful Lookout Mountain, Georgia, an excellent faculty, and students eager to prepare for extraordinary callings in ordinary places.

Education

The mission of Covenant College is to explore and express the preeminence of Jesus Christ in all things. We educate Christians to engage culture and cultures, to examine and unfold creation, and to pursue biblical justice and mercy in community. With the student-faculty relationship and strong teaching and scholarship at the foundation, our Christ-centered community seeks to help students mature in three primary areas:

  • Identity in Christ
  • Biblical frame of reference
  • Service that is Christ-like

Services

Housing services

Covenant College residence halls have mixed housing, with upperclassmen living alongside underclassmen. We appreciate the mentoring and presence that many juniors and seniors provide to freshmen and sophomores in the halls. Many students choose to stay on the same floor all four years they are at Covenant.

Student Life

Campus life

At Covenant we seek to foster an environment of holistic living and intercultural competence that reflects the gospel, enriches our educational experience, and prepares students to work and serve globally. When students step onto campus, they discover a community oriented for learning both in and out of the classroom.

Sports facilities

Or, get involved in intramurals. 75 percent of Covenant students play intramural sports, including men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. And if you think dodgeball is the same game you played in elementary school, you haven’t seen Covenant students compete for the gold in what is known here as Battle Ball.Member of NCAA Division III Intercollegiate AthleticsIntercollegiate Sports Available:
