Great Program in a Peculiar Environment
American College Dublin is a warm and welcoming university with an incredible library to help you with your studies. It really stands out in providing excellent student support, ensuring your well-being and assisting you whenever needed. Plus, It's dedication to sustainability encourages students to become environmentally conscious and make a positive impact on the planet..
Financial Soundness
ACD appears to be on the brink of closing. My daughter was a student there that withdrew from the university according to their guidelines and has yet to receive her refund of unused tuition. ACD has acknowledged their responsibility to refund the funds owed but have come up with multiple excuses since January 2025 as to why they can't pay. ACD also seems to be struggling Academically with retention of staff, including professors. My daughter experienced the switching of professor's mid-semester as well as changes of scheduling to very inefficient times of day and locations where classes were held. Had we known the poor quality of ACD and lack of financial responsibility my daughter would have never attended here.
Student services
The Office of Student Services provides a one-stop alternative to long lines and confusion; the convenience of having questions and concerns addressed in one location helps to alleviate some of the anxiety about starting a new course, or indeed the anxieties that continue beyond the first months through to graduation. Any student who encounters difficulties (whether academic, personal, health or practical issues) can be assured that the College’s support services are available to provide advice and assistance.
Housing services
Daft have a student specific section of their website which is very useful to narrow down the search options and they also release a report that will help you get an idea about current pricing and what you should be paying here.
Library services
The Rooney library was established in 1993 with the help of a generous donation from Patrick A. Rooney. Situated in an elegant ensemble of Georgian rooms overlooking Merrion Square, The Rooney Library provides a comprehensive range of books, periodicals and newspapers relevant to courses offered at American College Dublin.
