While the roots of Nipissing University extend back to the 1900's with the North Bay Normal School, Nipissing University College was formed in 1967 as an affiliate of Laurentian University. Nipissing University received its charter as an independent University in 1992.

Student Accessibility Services supports students studying at our North Bay campus, as well as students studying at a distance. Various testing accommodations including additional time, distraction-reduced writing space, assistive technology, etc. are available to all students registered with our office provided that their documentation supports the accommodation. Students will learn about their eligibility for testing accommodations once they meet with their Accessibility Consultant who will review their documentation and determine the appropriate supports.
The Harris Learning Library opened in June 2011 and stands at the heart of the shared Nipissing University and Canadore College campus. Although based at the North Bay Campus, the Harris Learning Library services extend to students located at our other campuses, or studying on their own.
Technology Services (UTS) is dedicated to assisting all members of the Nipissing University community make effective use of a wide range of information technologies.
