About
History
- Founded in April 3, 1856 by leaders of the Universalist Church, a progressive Christian denomination.
- Oldest continuously coeducational institutionof higher learning in New York State.
- Considerable growth in enrollment led to expansion of physical plant following World War II
- First international study program inaugurated in 1964.

Student services
International Student Services supports the intellectual, ethical, personal, and social development of St. Lawrence's international students as they explore their place and purpose as engaged learners in a diverse and interdependent University and world.
Housing services
The mission of the Office of Residence Life is to foster a community living environment which promotes the pursuit of academic excellence, personal growth, and integrity. By living on campus during their undergraduate education, students, together with the support of the Residence Life staff, learn to become engaged and responsible citizens.
Library services
The primary purpose of the Libraries at St. Lawrence University is to support the educational mission of the college. Librarians and support staff at both Libraries are committed to providing students with "an increasingly sophisticated means of acquiring and evaluating knowledge during the course of their careers."
Medical services
The Health and Counseling Center will be open to serve students approved to remain on campus, and those who live in the Canton area. Eligibility for on-site Health Services will stay in effect only for students who remain within St. Lawrence County.
Student Life
Campus life
St. Lawrence University requires all undergraduate students to reside on-campus for the whole of their University experience. This requirement is predicated upon the belief that over the course of four years, students benefit progressively from a residential curriculum in a number of ways. They learn to live with a diversity of students and to value the unique contributions of community members. Students develop and utilize leadership skills, allowing them to have a positive impact on their residential communities. They also develop life skills which will benefit them throughout their lives - including communication, assertiveness, prioritization and time management skills.
Sports facilities
The Varsity Strength and Conditioning Room will be open to varsity student-athletes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Coaches may sign their teams up for use from 6-9 a.m. and 2-10 p.m. by contacting Jared Hatz.

Accreditation
St. Lawrence University EPP was first accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) in 2007 and was reaccredited in 2013. The EPP’s TEAC accreditation ended in November 2020 and was extended by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) through a Good Cause Extension until December 2022. The EPP will end its program in May 2022 and will not seek further accreditation from CAEP once the Good Cause Extension lapses.

It has being and it still an awesome experience at St Lawrence university in Cameroon. It opened me up to the realities of life since am the one paying my school fees, we students have good interactions with lecturers . Our greatest challenge is lack of infrastructures and restrictions to internship opportunities for practice.
