History
Colorado College’s history is one full of proud tradition and progressive culture. The conventions in which the school was based upon continue to live through the current college’s students, faculty, and staff. In the early years, before there existed so much as a permanent building, Colorado College gathered a small faculty whose roots ran to traditional New England scholarship.
Education
At Colorado College, offering the finest liberal arts education in the country is what we aspire to. Our unique Block Plan system provides students with the most immersive and we feel rewarding method of learning possible. It offers in-depth study of a subject, oftentimes covering far more material than most semester-based programs, at demanding and inspiring levels.
Research
One of the ways Colorado College creates a superb liberal arts learning environment is to support student research experiences. Our research-active faculty scholars mentor students in collaborative research during the academic year, as well as in the summer. During summer research students also participate in co-curricular educational programming to further support their learning.

Student services
Colorado College students invest their time in a plethora of activities including the arts, athletics, community service, ethnic and cultural groups, media publications, spiritual groups, and student organizations. Student housing is guaranteed for all four years, and students are required to live on campus for the first three. 78 percent of students live on campus, where resources and services are abundant and easily accessible.
Housing services
Reasonable accommodations are determined by Accessibility Resources in collaboration with the student. Information the student provides on the past use and effectiveness of accommodations is important in helping us determine what may be beneficial for the student at Colorado College. We will also take into account the current impact of the student's disability in an educational setting. Communication between the student and Accessibility Resources is key to ensuring that appropriate accommodations are in place.
Library services
Tutt Library’s vision is to be one of the finest liberal arts college libraries in the country, responsive to the distinctive rhythms of the Block Plan and rooted in Colorado College’s sense of place.
Medical services
Colorado College proudly partners with DaVita Medical Group formerly CSHP to provide health services to students on campus through the Student Health Center. The College has made health services available to students since the Center’s opening in 1963 and continues its commitment to delivering a wide array of programs to augment “life at CC”.
Campus life
Located just north of downtown Colorado Springs, the CC campus is nestled at the intersection of nature's call and urban sprawl. It's within three hours of ten ski resorts, and under a day's drive from seven national parks. Campus itself also extends 30 miles west to the CC cabin and 160 miles west to the Baca campus at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Both offer secluded spaces for reflection, contemplation, and discussion.
Sports facilities
Athletic facilities include all outdoor playing fields, courts and track, the El Pomar Sports Center, the Schlessman Natatorium and the Honnen Ice Rink. These facilities are available primarily for the use by Colorado College students, faculty and staff. There are special guidelines for the Honnen Ice Rink as it is an auxiliary enterprise of the College.
Student clubs
With over 100 active Student Organizations, and the opportunity to create new ones, Colorado College provides an opportunity for every student to be involved.
