Poznan University of Technology (PUT) grew out of the State School of Mechanical Engineering which was established in 1919. The autonomous state institution consisting of ten faculties providing didactics for about 21 thousand students. PUT offers Bachelor, Master and Doctorate courses in Polish and English. PUT works in the field of education with 200 European universities.



The history of the first Polish technical higher education institution began in 1919 when People’s Leading Council founded Higher State School of Mechanical Engineering.

In 1921 in the “Wiadomo´sci Techniczne” newspaper “Appeal to the Authorities to establish Pozna´n University of Technology” appeared. The document included the reasons for creation such type of school.


PUT offers Bachelor, Master and Doctorate courses in Polish and English at the following Faculties:

Poznan University of Technology participates in international organizations, including:

  • CESAER (Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research) - since 1995
  • IAU (International Association of Universities) - since 1993
  • SEFI (European Society for Engineering Education) - since 1994
  • EUA (European University Association) since 2004, with headquarters in Brussels since 2004 IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., USA) CLAWAR Association (Climbing and Walking Robots, United Kingdom)
Many of PUT scientists continues to numerous international organizations and associations, including:
  • EARP (European Automotive Research Partners Association, Belgium)


Thanks to PUT students can create own start-up! Academic business-incubator helps on

a preferential basis to successfully launch student’ business. It has already ended with plenty

of successful student’s businesses.

Student services

At the PUT we have the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) which is a non-profit international student organisation. The main mission is to represent international students, thus provide opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students.The students from ESN will also organise a lot of activities for you during the whole academic year.The Academic Sporting Union /AZS/ with its 30 sports sections is the largest student organization.Our students are successful in basketball, football, cancanoeing, wrestling, snowboarding, volleyball.

Housing services

PUT provides over 2200 places in students’ dormitories, which are situated 2-3 minutes from the University. The rooms are double or triple, with a bathroom and a shared kitchen. Dormirories have access to the Internet, modern student canteen, outdoor basketball court and football pitch, grilling garden.All dormitories are heated and furnished.There is a laundry and some parking place.

Campus life

Most of the Faculties are situated on Warta Campus.

The Campus is situated in the center of the city – it takes 10 minutes to get to the Old Market from here and 5 minutes to get to the Malta lake – a favorite place of recreation of the city inhabitants

Sports facilities

The Academic Sporting Union /AZS/ with its 30 sports sections is the largest student organization. PUT has the outdoor lit sports field – the best in town, new modern Sport Center with bowling, basketball and football hall, fitness halls and a fitness club. Our students are successful in basketball, football, canoeing, wrestling, snowboarding, volleyball.

Student clubs

Over 80 scientific and research groups, let students not only to perform their hobbies, but gives a chance to win Rector’s foundings for students projects, travel and gain experience what makes them desirable candidates for many employers.

PUT has the best Polish student broadcasting station called „RADIO AFERA” and „Spacja TV” –TV channel. The events organized by students include: university students’ festival – Juvenalia, concerts, ROBOTS SUMO competition, Championships of Team Programing, salsa dancing, worldwide tours with the folk dance group called „POLIGRODZIANIE”.

My overall experience that i gained from the campus is really good. The professors and the employees were helpful, study system and grading systems are pretty much fine. Although I think it needs to be more practical for our future real world experience.
