Ohio Wesleyan gives you the support, resources, and guidance to help you become who you want to be. Your OWU Connection pathway will be as unique as you are.

History

Ohio Wesleyan University was established with community support in 1842, when the Rev. Adam Poe, pastor of Delaware’s William Street Church, encouraged the citizens of Delaware to raise funds to purchase a building and establish a university “of the highest order” in central Ohio.

Education

Ohio Wesleyan’s goal is to provide every student with transformational experiences that will prepare them for the causes, careers, and graduate school opportunities they want to pursue.

We do that through close relationships with faculty-mentors—and through a unique academic program called The OWU Connection.

Research

Ohio Wesleyan University is responsible for ensuring that research activities conducted under its auspices do not violate the rights and welfare of human or non-human animal subjects. Investigators conducting research with human or non-human animal subjects must obtain approval from the appropriate body prior to the commencement of any research activities.

Career

Career Connection’s mission is to help all OWU students develop and implement the tools and tenacity to navigate the path from college into the professional world.

Career Connection will challenge and inspire students to explore their passions and values and combine them to create a fulfilling and successful future.

Our vision is that 100% of OWU students are impacted by Career Connection, and because of this impact, are ready to succeed in life after OWU.

Holistic Approach to Education

I especially enjoyed OWU's liberal arts approach that allowed me to explore my chosen degrees multidimensionally, as well as the scenic campus, opportunities for funding and study abroad programs.

Housing services

Whether you choose to live in a residence hall, a small living unit (SLU), a house, or pledge a fraternity (sororities are non-residential), you’ll meet new friends and gain an appreciation for other cultures. You’ll also begin to make the decisions that go along with living away from home. If you need help, Residential Life’s professional staff and student assistants will work with you to solve problems, deal with personal issues, and refer you to additional assistance if necessary. As a residential campus, students make Ohio Wesleyan their home for all four years of their education.
