If you have questions about life in Sheffield, they’ll do their best to put you in touch with a current University student to answer your questions.
When you arrive, you’ll find friendly, helpful and experienced staff in the International College ready to help you settle in. The Students’ Union also has an International Officer, ready to provide advice and support whenever you feel you need a helping hand.
Housing services
During your time at the University of Sheffield International College you can choose to either live in allocated student accommodation or arrange your own private accommodation.
We strongly advise all students to secure their accommodation before arriving in the UK. This will ensure that there are no difficulties with confirming your course, at immigration or at police registration on arrival (if required).
Campus life
The campus is set around the city centre, with all departments a short walk from each other, or a quick ride on the bus or tram.
The International College is based in one of the newest campus buildings, near the heart of the city centre. Our students have access to all of the University’s outstanding facilities, including the Students Union, voted best in the UK for 9 years’ running, the Goodwin Sports Centre, the new Diamond building and award-winning Information Commons.
Sheffield is the greenest major city in the UK, with plenty of parks, tree-lined streets and the Peak District National Park nearby.
