On November 1, 1872 Russian historian V. Guerrier established «Women’s Courses of Higher Education» — the first educational institution in Russia for women with the endorsment of Alexander II, the Emperor of Russia. In 1930, the Second MSU became the first pedagogical institute in the Soviet Union. In 1990 MSPI was transformed into MPGU — Moscow Pedagogical State University.
Moscow State Pedagogical University has strong traditions in academic and scientific research and is a proud member of number of scientific and research groups on national and international levels. The University holds a large number of scientific conferences, practical seminars and workshops annually.

I am much satisfyed with my study experience at university for numerous reasons: professors passionate about their job and always ready to share the maximum of their knowledge, well-organized educational department that responds and helps in time, active student life. Three of them are located next to the MPGU Humanities building (88 Prospect Vernadskogo) and not far from other institutions of higher education (Moscow Technological University, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and others).
