ESIGELEC provides training for engineers in telecommunications, electronics, information technologies, information networks, embedded systems, automation and robotics, electrical engineering for transport, mechatronics, energy and sustainable development, biomedical engineering, business engineering and financial engineering.

  • 1901: Creation of the “Ecole Pratique d’Electricité Industrielle” (EEIP), by Mr Alexandre CHARLIAT in Paris,
  • 1922: State recognition of the school,
  • 1929: Engineering Degree granted by the state,
  • 1936: Engineering Degree accredited by the French Board of Engineering Degrees (CTI),


Our programmes are based on students projects, practical work in labs, project management courses, foreign languages and internships, and proposes an international environment with strong links with industry, offering students the possibility to develop their personal/professional skills and to be ready to work!

Formed in 2001 by ESIGELEC with the support of manufacturers and institutional bodies, IRSEEM (Embedded Electronic Systems Research Institute) has quickly developed collaborative research with its partners and transfers technologies to regional sectors in the automobile, aviation, electronics, telecommunications and energy industries. These activities are focused on a theme which is important for all these industries – embedded systems.


SIGELEC, which comprises graduates from ESIGELEC, supports students’ preparation of their professional career by helping them to look for employment. This is done in concert with the school using a team of business contacts comprising of a network of 4000 graduates currently working in France and throughout the world.

Housing services

International incoming students are offered a wide range of housing options distributed across various locations. A housing of average comfort amounts around € 375 per month. Students have the opportunity to live either in student residences proposed by ESIGELEC, or in private rentals.

ICT services

  • Students can purchase a plan from a range of attractive offers in any internet service providers, such as SFR, Free, Orange or Bouygues. Some packages include landline phone for local or international calls.
  • All students own a personal ESIGELEC email address (valid for the period of studies at school).

Medical services

Health insurance is compulsory for all students and their enrollment at ESIGELEC. In the event of a health problem, students having a health insurance will be reimbursed to the extent of 75% to 80% of the health care’s expenses. Students will be helped by ESIGELEC to get it..

Student Life

Campus life

Modern, large and well equiped buildings in a wooded area, with an easy access to the historical, dynamic and vibrant city center of Rouen and located just at 1 hour and a half from the city center of Paris.

A campus of 12, 000 square meters, which has received the prize “Auguste Perret” for its nice architecture. An extra surface of 5,000 square meters dedicated to Research, Innovation and Transfer of Technologies (The Campus for Integration of Embedded Systems – CISE) was opened in 2012.

Student clubs

The Students Union is also known as the ESIGELEC Students Association and is the focal point of student social life in school. Apart from regular services, the Students Union organizes activities, events, excursions, parties for students.

  • Accreditation by the French Conference of Top Management and Engineering Schools (CGE) for its MSc. Diplomas.
