Founded in 1948, GNU, a national flagship university representing South Gyeongsang Province, has been making utmost efforts to foster creative, civil and knowledgeable professionals equipped with an aptitude for learning and a pioneering spirit.

Education

GNU has been positioning itself as an internationally recognized institution, consisting of 13 colleges and 10 graduate schools with 810 professors, 530 administrative staffs and some 25,000 students across three campuses – Gajwa and Chilam in Jinju and Tongyeong campus.

Services

Student services

GNU has been focusing on students’ employment and educational development in association with businesses and industrial complex in the west of South Gyeongsang Province and east of South Jeonnam Province including Jinju Inno City and Aerospace Industrial Complex in Jinju and Sacheon.

Housing services

GNU's main campus has twelve dormitories, seven houses for males and five houses for females. The dormitories house a total of 3,971 students, 2,040 males and 1,931 females. Each dormitory has shared washroom and shower areas, laundry facilities, and lounge areas with TV and video equipment. The Dormitory complex has a cafeteria, study area, computer room, music room, DVD theater , indoor and outdoor exercise areas, and bicycle racks. The Tongyoung and Chilam campus also has a dormitory.

Library services

The six-story Central Library building has 1,350,000 books and which are divided into six sub-sections: a Multimedia Room, a Social Sciences & Theses and Dissertation Room, a Humanities Room, a Natural Science & Personal Collections Room and the University Archives. The functions of each sub-section are as follows:

ICT services

The Information Technology Services at Gyeongsang National University established new goal for this year “next-generation information system” and contribute to develop as information and global IT leaders by developing specific strategy and vision.

Medical services

As the only national university hospital in Gyeongnam, we are about to open another GNU Hospital in Changwon in 2015 in addition to the already existing hospital in Jinju. In addition, our Gyeongnam Regional Cancer Center, the first such center in the nation, treats many types of cancer with a state-of-the-art medical infrastructure.

Student clubs

The Student Union Building is home to a number of student services, stores, and organizations, including the university bookstore, a beauty shop, a barbershop, an eyewear shop, a photo studio, a travel agency, a computer service-and-sales shop, and other stores. The building also houses two student cafeterias, the faculty cafeteria, the student newspaper and broadcasting facilities, and offices for various students organizations, including the student council and student clubs.
