Student services
The Council of Student Body Presidents was organized in 1979 with the primary purpose of improving communication among students attending the professional schools of the Health Sciences Center. This Group also expresses student opinion and interest to the administration and implements various programs which concern all students.
Housing services
The 160,000 square feet of the Perdido Place contains 186 living units (apartments and dorm rooms) for single students and married couples. Secure ground level parking below the building is available for tenants. Inside and outside recreational areas include table tennis, billiards and basketball court.
Located at 1900 Perdido Street, the Perdido Place is connected to the Medical Education Building via a covered, elevated walkway for easy and quick access to classrooms, labs, library and cafeteria.
Medical services
The Health Sciences Center offers a group health insurance program for students. At the time of registration, students must either purchase coverage from this plan or must be prepared to show evidence of coverage by another plan, in which case the requirement to purchase may be waived.
Sports facilities
The LSUHSC Wellness Center is dedicated to enhancing the mental and physical health of the LSUHSC community through access to state-of-the-art sports equipment, group exercise classes, and membership options for students, residents, faculty, and staff. This welcoming facility provides a supportive environment where individuals can focus on their overall well-being, balance academic and professional demands, and stay active.

Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees.
