QS World University Rankings is one of the top international rankings measuring the popularity and performance of universities all over the world. They measure university reputation based on the impressions of higher education experts, companies who hire graduates, and teaching quality. QS also considers the ratio of international teachers and students present at universities, as well as the times research papers were mentioned by researchers. After calculating and comparing these criteria, QS ranks the universities accordingly.

Student services

The Office of Student Activities & Organizations empowers Indiana State University students to achieve academic excellence, develop leadership skills, and actively engage in the campus community through service and activities. They provide an array of opportunities for meaningful engagement and interactions across campus—from academic collaborations, leadership initiatives, and student-led events to community-driven programs—all designed to foster a strong sense of belonging and shared purpose.

Housing services

You will live and learn right on campus, where you’re within walking distance of class, dining, recreational activities, campus events, and more fun. All first-year students are required to live on campus or be granted a housing exception.

Indiana State offers several residential meal plans to meet your dining needs. Students who live in a residence hall are required to have a residential meal plan. Students who live in 500 Wabash or University Apartments are not required to have a meal plan, but they may opt into one of the residential plans or the optional apartment meal plan.

ICT services

Indiana State maintains a robust application infrastructure centered around Microsoft technologies. As such, Windows-based computers will allow for the greatest ease-of-use on campus. However, experienced Mac users will be fully supported on their Apple devices, as well. If you have mostly used Windows or Chromebook devices in the past, we recommend bringing a Windows-based laptop for academics.

Medical services

The ISU Health Center (UAP Clinic) at Indiana State University provides a range of services for students and employees. These include COVID-19 symptomatic testing, treatment for acute injuries, allergy shots, asthma and COPD care, immunizations, and management of various health issues such as fever, headaches, and sore throats.

Campus life

Indiana State is located in historic downtown Terre Haute, just 60 miles southwest of Indianapolis and an easy day trip from several other states and metropolitan areas. There is a lot to see and do here, from downtown shopping and dining to community festivals, cultural events, concerts, and many outdoor activities. And don’t forget our D-I Sycamore Athletics!

Student clubs

Student organizations are an essential part of college life, offering students a wide range of opportunities to connect, learn, and grow outside the classroom. These groups vary in focus and can include academic clubs, cultural associations, service organizations, political groups, recreational and sports clubs, performing arts groups, and special interest clubs such as those focused on sustainability, gaming, or entrepreneurship.

Accreditation

The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Academic programs across the colleges are accredited by more than 30 different agencies. In addition, the University holds institutional membership in at least ten major national associations.
