About

History

Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) was originally established in October of 1956. The initial core of the university was formed under the name “Tehran Polytechnic” in order to expand the activities of two technical institutes of the time: “Civil Engineering Institute” and the “Higher Art Center”.

Education

University of Amirkabir has more than 16 different engineering programs to explore and over 60 technical graduate programs.

Research

There are 28 research centers, 16 centers of excellence and 250 research/educational labs that host respective BS, MS, and PhD students. Research labs essentially serve as the backbone of centers of excellence for developing new ideas and prototyping them with either simulations, experiments or both.

Career

The career center at AUT is governed by specialists who foster small businesses and help them expand, while supporting any start up relating to technology with goals in science.

This office helps small to medium businesses in the area of applicable research, engineering design, reverse engineering, technology transfer and commercialization of research to establish themselves in a competitive job market.

Student career counselling, assisting employers in finding recruitments from Amirkabir alumni, organizing workshops and directing new ideas in a lucrative path are some of the other provided services. Students are encouraged to stop by and explore all the services and resources available.
