Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) is among the oldest and most prestigious of higher education technical and engineering institutes in Iran. AUT’s lengthy history of success has flourished even more significantly, after the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
In line with extensive educational activities, AUT provides a challenging and fast-paced climate for state-of-the-art research. The library and document center at AUT is the largest technical and engineering library in Iran’s capital and one of the richest academic libraries in the technical and engineering field in the region. This library includes a central library and 16 satellitic libraries in Tehran and Bandar Abbas and offers visitors reading rooms, books, journals, papers, disks and databases.
The Wellness Center at AUT offers counseling services in the form of individual counseling, education, marriage, family, children and teenagers counseling.

Surrounded by the oldest and the most vibrant neighborhoods of Tehran, AUT has always been a central hub for art and culture. Tehran City Theatre (Teatr-e-Shahr) is the largest performing arts complex in Tehran and is just steps away from AUT. The Artistic Center of Tehran also borders with AUT from the east. Valiasr Street, the longest street in Tehran and probably one the longest in the world, is lined by trees so tall that cover its lively commercial centers.
