My experience at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv has been very positive. I especially appreciate Elena’s support and professionalism. She explained everything clearly, communicated in a respectful and structured way, and helped make the study process more understandable and comfortable. What I liked most was her attentive attitude and willingness to help with questions. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience at the university and grateful for Elena’s guidance and support.
I like that we have really strong applied math level on my speciality but I’m not satisfied with level of programming related subjects. There are so many old lectures who don’t care about new technologies and use old not relevant materials. As well I don’t like that attendance is so important. For example, I take part I many youth exchanges, I always have official documents, but sometimes lecturers don’t care about that and give me lower grades, I’m so sad about that, because i always follow deadlines and do all the tasks on time, so that fact is so annoying. What more I can say about studies is that we don’t gain enough experience and practical knowledge in our sphere, we don’t have enough projects that can improve your knowledge, so after university you are just not ready for the work with the knowledge it gives you
As a student majoring in journalism at Lviv National University, I have had the opportunity to experience both the strengths and weaknesses of this institution. While there are aspects of the university that I appreciate, my overall experience has been less than satisfactory. The university offers a comprehensive curriculum covering essential aspects of journalism, including media ethics, news reporting, and digital journalism. However, I have found that the courses often lack practical, hands-on experience, which is crucial for a field like journalism. The teaching methods tend to be outdated, with a heavy emphasis on theoretical knowledge rather than practical skills. The faculty members are knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. However, the bureaucratic challenges and inefficiencies within the administration have been a constant source of frustration. Obtaining necessary approvals and signatures for programs like Erasmus can be a lengthy and cumbersome process, often taking weeks to resolve. The university's facilities are in need of significant improvement. The lack of modern equipment and resources hinders the ability to conduct cutting-edge research and practical training. The library, while well-stocked, often does not have the most up-to-date materials required for current studies.
