An important element of the success behind these training programmes is their increasing diversity. In September 2012, International Studies, a new programme, has been added to three existing Bachelor programmes: Trade and Marketing, International Management and Communication and Media Studies. As for the International Management Programme, training is offered in English and French in two separate training modules.
In the past few years, master programmes in Marketing and International Studies have also been launched by the College of International Management and Business. These programmes are intended for students aiming for in-depth knowledge in a particular field of studies. Diversity is enhanced via training in different locations (the International Studies Master programme in Kolozsvár) and the addition of a new correspondence course (the International Studies Master Programme in English), which was launched in September 2012.
Programmes offered within the framework of post-secondary vocational training and specialized further training (currently offering 7 and 14 different courses respectively) equally cover a wide spectrum of studies.
One traditional trademark, as it were, of our faculty is an exceptionally wide selection of foreign languages taught as part of our training programmes. Currently, 'language of business' is a training module offered in 12 languages including a few oriental languages, while other course options are offered in a total of 14 languages.
The tuition of foreign languages is an alternative offered by the
College of International Management and Business not only in the form of specific courses but also as an instrument in the acquisition of other subjects. Apart from training programmes offered in foreign languages, a total of around 30 different subjects are taught in various foreign languages.
The academic staff are typically involved in three areas of science: economics and management, communication and media sciences as well as linguistics. The number of articles, papers, chapters, books, course-books, etc published annually is 120-140.
Teachers at the College play an active role in the domestic and international scientific life. Our chief researchers are the leaders of research projects supported by the National Scientific Research Fund. A colleague is a member of the Hungarian. Accreditation Committee (HAC). Several teachers make reports on doctoral theses and take part in doctoral programs at other universities.
Five of our colleagues sit on different scientific committees (Marketing, International Economics, Logistics, Quantitative Methodology, Linguistics Subcommittees of Hungarian Academy of Sciences). The UNESCO has awarded one colleague the title of 'professor', and another one is a holder of Jean Monnet Chair.
