Research
UMass Lowell has over 20 university research centers and institutes. The university is home to one of the most advanced robotics-testing centers in the United States and has a radiation laboratory with a research nuclear reactor. UMass Lowell also boasts a baseball research center that is a testing center for Major League Baseball.

Research co-operative education (co-op) is a strong component of a student’s experience and offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students the chance to work side-by-side with leading research professors and professionals in all areas of research.
Choose from one or more three month or six-month co-ops, depending on your academic program, and go on to graduate with a competitive edge in the job market. You can also earn a salary while on co-op, which can assist in offsetting college expenses.

The UMass Lowell Navitas GSSP offers undergraduate and graduate programs designed to prepare international students for university studies in the United States. The GSSP offers a variety of studying and learning support services, including academic counseling, tutoring, writing labs, mentor program and personal support.
Housing services
Undergraduate GSSP students are required to live in on-campus housing at UMass Lowell for the duration of the GSSP. Graduate GSSP students have the option to live on or off campus. Off-campus housing is the responsibility of the student. Living on-campus will give you even more opportunities to take advantage of campus facilities and nightlife. You will also be able to spend more time in computer rooms, libraries and the Centers for Learning and Academic Support Services (CLASS).
ICT services
The UMass Lowell campus has state-of-the-art computer labs and wireless internet access. At UMass Lowell, you are always connected!
Medical services
Student Health Services are located right on campus and help meet all students’ health care needs. Student Health Services operate on both appointment and walk-in schedules. Students are encouraged to utilize Health Services for any illness or routine health care.
Campus life
UMass Lowell Navitas GSSP understands that the transition to university study can be difficult for some students. In addition to formal academic courses, UMass Lowell Navitas GSSP provides a variety of support services to help you develop the skills you need to successfully complete your program of study. As a UMass Lowell Navitas GSSP student, you will also have access to all facilities and services on the UMass Lowell campus, which will enhance your learning experience.
Sports facilities
The 65,000-square-foot Campus Recreation Center at UMass Lowell is designed to meet the needs of the campus community. The facility offers fitness classes, basketball and badminton courts, table tennis and pool tables and an indoor track. There are several soccer fields.
Student clubs
UMass Lowell has more than 250 clubs and organizations to suit varying academic and cultural interests. Current clubs include the American Society of Civil Engineering, Association of Students of African Origin, Cricket Club, International Students Club, Muslin Student Association, MBA Club, Chinese Students and Scholars Association and more.
Accreditation
UMass Lowell is one of the few public universities in the U.S. to offer accredited undergraduate degrees in nuclear engineering and plastics engineering.
