History
Brac University (BracU) established in 2001 is located in Dhaka Bangladesh. BracU follows a liberal arts approach to education which nurtures fresh ideas and gives new impetus to the field of tertiary education.
Education
Currently BracU has thirty two academic programs, of those, sixteen are undergraduate programs and the rest are postgraduate programs. BracU has a trimester system except for the Pharmacy Department, which runs on a semester system.
Research
According to QS Asian University rankings, Brac University is the top ranked private university in Bangladesh. Academic staff and graduate students at Brac University are central to the University's research efforts, which span all areas of the globe and tackle issues of international significance. Research at the university has made an enormous impact on our fundamental understanding of the world and significant contribution to society’s needs, and our graduate students join our academic staff in tackling some of the major challenges facing the world today.

A vibrant academic environment.
University of Dhaka offers a vibrant academic environment with a rich history and strong intellectual culture. I liked most is the diversity of students and opportunity to engage in meaningful discussion both inside and outside of classroom. Many professors are knowledgeable and passionate. Campus life is lively with various clubs, cultural library. However there are some drawbacks. Administration process is slow and certain facilities could be improved to meet modern standards.
Life at BRAC University
From the very first day, students are welcomed into an environment that values creativity and independence. Classes are not just about lectures�professors often challenge students to think critically, ask questions, and work on real-life projects. Late-night assignment rushes and group study sessions quickly become part of the routine. Campus life is energetic and full of opportunities. Whether it�s joining clubs, participating in debates, or attending tech and cultural events, there�s always something happening. Students often gather in common areas, sharing ideas, laughing, or simply taking a break from their busy schedules. Friendships formed here tend to be strong, built through shared struggles like exams, deadlines, and presentations. Cafeteria hangouts and last-minute exam preparations create memories that stay long after graduation. Of course, the journey isn�t always easy. The pressure to keep up with coursework and maintain good results can be intense. Time management becomes an essential skill, and many students learn it the hard way. Still, life at BRAC University shapes students into confident and capable individuals. It�s not just about earning a degree�it�s about growing, adapting, and preparing for the challenges of the real world.
A University That Encourages Growth!
My experience at Northern University Bangladesh has been very positive. The university provides a supportive and student-friendly environment where learners can grow both academically and personally. The faculty members are cooperative, approachable, and always willing to guide students whenever needed. One of the best aspects of the university is its affordable tuition fees, which make quality education accessible to many students from middle-class families. The academic system is flexible, which is especially helpful for students who are balancing studies with part-time jobs or other responsibilities. Overall, Northern University Bangladesh is a great place for students who are motivated and willing to take initiative. With dedication and effort, students can build strong knowledge and skills for their future careers.

Housing services
Brac University provides international students accommodation facilities and transport to and from the BracU campus.

The Ayesha Abed Library at BRAC University aims to become a world-class Knowledge Resource Centre and provide innovative new services and a wider collection of books and resources to the teaching, learning and research communities, using latest technological developments of the 21st century.
ICT services
The I.T Department plays a pivotal role in the management of automation related activities of BRAC University. Many student information related activities. The I.T Department is staffed by tech-savvy personnel who provide prompt service to students, faculty members and staff of BRAC University who use computers.
Medical services
Brac University has a well equipped Medical Center, both in main campus and at Savar campus. This center has so many types of equipment such as oxygen calendar, nebulizer machine, mini surgical instrument etc. We have emergency drugs which are distributed among the emergency patient. Also, we have vaccination facilities.
