History
Founded in Shanghai in October 1951, East China Normal University (ECNU) is one of the most prestigious universities in China sponsored by the national top university construction programs “Project 211” and “Project 985”. In 2017, ECNU was chosen as one of the 36 Class A universities on the list of Double First Class University Plan released by the central government of China.
Research
As one of the most prestigious key universities in China, East China Normal University (ECNU) has attached great importance to research in both basic and applied sciences since its early stages. With a view to becoming a world renowned high-level research university by the 21st century, ECNU has made more efforts in this field and made great progress in disciplinary programming, talent nurturing and scientific research in recent years.

Very good in my reasearch
I am a very commited person to improve my statys of degree to become good expert in education.I learned my degree programe in University of Gondar by government sponsor. I was english language teacher. Right now I work in office to lead all department.
Strong student services focus
Basically good and esp. good in the students service. The school's humanistic care is outstanding. The learning environment is very good. Excellent teaching staff. The food in the faculty is also very delicious. I recommend students to study in East China Normal University, because all the experience here is good.

Very good place to be, gives you the time to explore different topics each semester with the guidance of an experienced staff, presents a multitude of routes to different careers and offers flexible schedules.

Student services
We provide information, coordination, planning, management and services for ECNU’s international exchange, the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regional exchange, as well as cooperation related affairs, including:

There are four international student dorms on Zhongshan Rd. Campus: International Exchange Service Center, No.1 International Student Residence Hall, No.2 International Student Residence Hall, and No.12 Student Residence Hall.
- International Exchange Service Center (Campus Map #25)
Students who live in the International Exchange Service Center must sign a “Rental-Least Agreement” and pay a deposit money of RMB1000 (full scholarship students pay a deposit money of RMB500). Students should pay the accommodation fee of a whole semester for checking in and won’t get refund if they check out before semester ends. Students may apply for an extension and pay the accommodation fee beforehand.
Campus life
There are four international student dorms on Zhongshan Rd. Campus: International Exchange Service Center, No.1 International Student Residence Hall, No.2 International Student Residence Hall, and No.12 Student Residence Hall.
Student clubs
With over 110 official student associations integrating the academic, extracurricular, and curricular spheres of students' life, ECNU students are active on and outside of campus. Having the ability to engage in a wide variety of interests and to enrich the social, cultural and educational experience is highly valued at ECNU. The student associations in the University mainly cover six domains: academic, career training, public welfare, sports, recreation and arts.
