EF Education First

EF Learning Labs collaborates with the most prestigious universities worldwide—including the University of Cambridge—to define the future of language learning. Together this collective of the world’s leading linguists, scientists and language experts are pioneering initiatives in language acquisition, teaching technology and progress assessment.

EF Education First was founded by Bertil Hult at the age of 23, in the basement of his university dormitory in Lund, Sweden. Having struggled with dyslexia as a child, Bertil Hult founded EF on the principle that cultural immersion was a superior way to study a language.
