Student Life

Campus life

The two campuses in Sunderland – one in the city and one on the coast – are perfectly placed to ensure a life-changing student experience. The University also has a new London campus which offers students the opportunity to study in the UK's capital city on completion of their foundation programme.

Sports facilities

The new range of sport packages enable students to participate in activities or sessions which suit everyone.

The University's £12m sport and social area was opened in 2009. Thousands of people have already used its excellent facilities including students, staff, local schools, and even some VIPs. The spectacular fitness suite is currently welcoming new members, giving you the chance to join up to one of the North East’s leading facilities. Memberships to the fitness suite are limited and it is therefore advised that anyone wishing to join does so sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Student clubs

All ONCAMPUS students automatically become Student Union members. The Union exists to make students' experience at University exciting and fun whilst also giving the opportunity to make your opinions about the University heard. The Union provides a network of student support, including:

  • Student representation
  • Academic and welfare advice and support
  • Entertainments and social activities

CONNECT is a social group that meets on a regular basis, run by the Students’ Union it is open to all students and is a great way to meet new people and make friends and it’s FREE to join!
