The nucleus of Sakarya University, whose mission is to educate individuals by all kinds of equipment modern civilization requires, has been formed by School of Engineering and Architecture founded in 1970 affiliated with Istanbul Technical University.
This school has turned into the State Academy of Engineering and Architecture in 1971 and served as a faculty from 1982 to 1992.
With 4 institutes, 13 faculties, 4 schools, 1 Conservatory and 14 vocational schools, Sakarya University pursues excellence in short-cycle, undergraduate and graduate levels. 3 departments running university-wide classes and 13 research centers are continuously doing their important activities in their respective fields.

There are various options for student accommodation in city of Sakarya, including KYK State Dormitories, Sakarya University Esentepe Dormitory, many private dormitories and also studio apartments.
Sakarya University Central Library serves 1,300 people on 7/24 to 10,000 m2. On the first floor are periodicals, a study room, reference section and a lounge. On the second floor, books, CD ROMs, dictionaries and a collection of Atatürk’s Library’s pieces are located. Third floor includes a reading hall, computer room and Audio-Visual materials room
The services of feeding, Canteen and Cafeteria of the University are carried out by the manager of Cafeteria and Exploitation Branch Office. At the Faculties, Vocational Schools locating at the Campus and Provinces meal services are given to the students
The services of provisions, breakfast, lunch and dinner are given at the periods of organization of the activities for the students served at Social, Sportive and Cultural activities of our University.
Feeding services are given at dining hall, in 12 localities, at our University.
Located in the campus of the University, synthetic pitch, basketball, SAU gymnasium, tennis court and sandy volleyball field which is used in the spring festivals are allocated to the organizations and the students.
840 business and accounting programs located in 48 different countries are accredited as of 2021. Less than 5% of more than 13,000 programs in the world have achieved this accreditation. The AACSB Accreditation Standards were first applied in 1919.
