Overview
Orthopaedic surgery is the study of the principles and procedures used in preventing, diagnosing, caring for and treating musculoskeletal disease, illness, and injury in humans and the maintenance of general health.

The Orthopedic Surgery programme will produce orthopaedic surgeons in line with this philosophy.
Career prospects
Graduands end up in successful employment in private sector, public sector or academia. The programme can also lead to sub-specialization training in any of the Orthopaedics Surgery sub-specialties.

General requirements
- The candidates will be admitted after completing two years since completion of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery qualification (MBChB.) and is expected to have completed internship and worked as a medical officer.
- Must have MBChB or its equivalent recognised by the Senate.
- Must be registered by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Must pass written entry examinations and an oral interview.
- Foreign students will be required to present themselves personally or engage in an online virtual interview.
- There must be proof of proficiency in English as this is the language of instruction.
- The minimum admission requirements must be in line with Nationally accepted admission Requirements
