The goal of this Nuclear Science and Technology programme offered by the University of Nairobi is to enable learners to assimilate knowledge and acquire competency in current and evolving technologies in peaceful applications of nuclear and associated science techniques in research. 

Thus, contributing to the development of research capacity and a knowledgeable human resource for sustainable economic and socioeconomic development.

Applications of nuclear techniques find applications in almost all sectors of the economy including industry, agriculture, and medical sectors etc. Some of the organisations which require nuclear-related services include the following:

• Government institutions – ministries of energy, water, education, transport, infrastructure, housing & urban development etc.

• Parastatals – KPA, KQ, Kengen, KPLC, KPRL etc.
