Overview

At the Materials Science and Engineering MSc programme from Tampere University You will learn what the microstructure of materials is like, how materials are related to manufacturing processes, and how they can be optimized for a given application through processing or by changing their composition. In addition, you will learn how to study and analyse different material properties.

You can tailor your curriculum by selecting one of our focus areas in materials science as well as strengthening your degree with a minor for which there are dozens of interesting options available. You have freedom to choose the major and minor based on your personal interests and goals.

Bachelor’s degree - nationally recognized first cycle degree*

an applicable bachelor’s degree at a university or a university of applied sciences in Finland

a bachelor's degree completed in a university outside Finland which provides eligibility to pursue an academic master’s degree in the country where the awarding institution is located

with a minimum scope of 180 ECTS credits, three to four years of full-time study

from a relevant field for the master’s degree programme that you are applying to

from a recognised institution of higher education
