Overview
Programme Overview
Students enter the Theoretical Physics from University of Wroclaw programme with basic skills in physics, mathematics, and programming. They begin with compulsory courses before selecting specialised electives. By the second semester, they choose a thesis advisor, who helps shape their academic and research direction. The advisor guides students in selecting the appropriate lectures to support their development as young scientists, ensuring they are well-prepared for further academic pursuits or research careers.
The studies offer flexibility, allowing students to shape their education based on intellectual interests or career goals. Whether choosing a broad theoretical path or a specialised focus, students benefit from close interaction with professors who provide individual mentorship. A significant advantage is the opportunity to apply to the PhD School at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, where all doctoral students receive scholarships. The program has been running for a decade and attracts students from Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, and beyond, with faculty members from diverse international backgrounds. Graduates pursue research in theoretical physics and modern technologies or continue PhD studies worldwide.
