The first and foremost focus of The University of Wroclaw is scientific research. Our scholars have numerous links with their fellow researchers from other higher education institutions in Poland and throughout the world. The success of our researchers has been recently recognized by Polish authorities.
The mission of our University is to shape the creative and critical personalities of students and define the directions of development in science and technology.The education offered at our institution is strongly linked with scientific research and the needs of economy and is consistent with standards of the European Higher Education Area.
Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw is a state university. It educates students on full-time studies and part-time studies in seven directions in four faculties: Faculty of Painting and Sculpture, Faculty of Graphics and Media Arts, Faculty of Interior Architecture and Design and Faculty of Ceramics and Glass.
The Wroclaw University of Economics and Business is ranked among the top economic schools of higher education in Poland, and an important centre of science and research. Its activities are aimed at maintaining and strengthening the position of the university on regional, national and international levels, improving competitive advantage, and shaping its image of a modern institution.
The Faculty of Medicine is the oldest and the largest faculty of Wroclaw Medical University. It was established on November 14, 1945, as one of six faculties of the University of Wroclaw and Technical University. The opening lecture was given by Ludwik Hirszfeld. The scientific staff consisted mainly of professors from the Jan Kazimierz University in Lviv.
