The English - Literary Studies programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is intended for those who have had some exposure to the study of literature written in English and who have a strong interest to attain deeper understanding of the English language and of the intellectual and artistic traditions of English-speaking cultures.

General requirements

normally possess an honours degree in English or a language-related field. Applicants with a good honours degree in subjects other than English may also be considered. All applicants must satisfy the Graduate Panel that they have an adequate standard of English and have a strong interest in Literary Studies;
submit a 500-word statement of interests/goals;
submit a short writing sample (1000-1500 words), which should be a scholarly essay written on a topic related to literature.
