Hong Kong is a unique place, with an always busy and lively atmosphere, a fascinating architecture and a thriving night life. You couldn’t possibly ask for more in Hong Kong, as you will always have something to do and you will always discover an intriguing site that you can visit.

Walk along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade and admire the unique and stunning architecture, and check the Hollywood Road and Upper Lascar Row (also known as “Cat Street”). On this street you can find nice antique shops and an open-air market.

Enjoy the Symphony of Lights, the “World’s Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show” by Guinness World Records. Hong Kong is also home to a famous and lovely relaxation venue, the Ocean Park, and has its own Disneyland too.

Attend sport events of the local football, basketball teams and watch swimming, badminton, table tennis, cycling and running tournaments and marathons.

In the evening, you can relax in some nice lounge and wine bars, international cuisine restaurants and many fashionable night clubs.

Whenever you feel like seeing other places, take a trip to Macau and to Lantau Island, around 30 minutes away by car or by train.

International atmosphere in Hong Kong

Generally, the population in Hong Kong does not reflect a multicultural society. Over 90 % of the inhabitants are Chinese, while the rest of them are Indians, Pakistanis and Nepalese and a few Vietnamese. A very small part are minorities like Britons, Americans, Canadians, Japanese, and Koreans that are temporary residents working in local multinationals, mostly in the commercial and financial sector.

However, since Hong Kong is a member of APEC, IMF, WTO, FIFA, and International Olympic Committee, the city has strong relations with foreign states in many fields, such as: economic, financial, trade, communications, culture and sports.

Weather Hong Kong

In Hong Kong, you will experience hot and humid summers, with occasional showers and thunderstorms, and mild winters, with occasional cool winds. Spring and autumn are temperate, but also changeable seasons, generally sunny. The daily average temperature in December – January are 16 – 17 °C (61 – 64 °F), and in summer temperatures are around 27 – 28 °C (82 – 83 °F).
