Overview
The Academy of European Public Law program offers 3-week summer study sessions on the theory and practice of public law in national legal orders, as well as in the law of the European Union and of the European Convention on Human Rights. Students may attend one session to earn a Certificate of Attendance in European Public Law or attend two consecutive summer sessions to obtain the Intensive International Master of Laws (I.I.LL.M.) in European Public Law.
The Certificate
Upon completion, students may be awarded:
- A) The Certificate of Attendance in European Law, granted to students who complete one Academy study session (3 weeks of classes) and fulfill all program requirements. These include full attendance, active participation in courses, and successful completion of the assessment(s).
*Note: As the topics and lecturers of the study sessions vary from year to year, many students choose to attend the sessions more than once. Recurring attendees are also awarded the Certificate of Attendance.
- B) Intensive International Master of Law (I.I.LL.M) in European Public Law: The Intensive International Master of Law (I.I.LL.M) in European Public Law is a diploma-level degree designed for graduates, postgraduates, and PhD students.
The 2026 Session
Offered ON PREMISE
This summer’s study session will take place from August 24 to September 12, 2026. The program consists of 2 general courses, 2 special courses, guest lectures, debate sessions, field trips, cultural visits and other social events. The final session takes place in Sounion, where students participate in the Annual Reunion of the European Group of Public Law.

- Returning students who wish to attend a second study session and enroll in the I.I.LL.M, must upload the Certificate of Attendance of the previous study session.

Students are encouraged to bring a laptop in order to study relevant references and reading material including statistics, maps, reports, scientific articles and presentations used by the speakers.
