Overview
The Master in Design Management brings together NABA and Luiss Business School to explore how design and business management inform each other. This one-year programme is delivered in English at the NABA Milan campus and in Italian at the NABA Rome campus, developing the skills to manage complex design projects in corporate and entrepreneurial settings.
Students examine contemporary design through its economic and social dimensions, learning to connect creative practice with business decisions. Marketing and management provide a foundation for understanding market needs, while design disciplines offer methods for developing products and services in response.

Accreditation
Developed by NABA and Luiss Business School, the programme leads to a First-Level University Master’s Degree in Management of Creative and Cultural Industries, Major in Design Management, awarded by Luiss Business School. The qualification carries 65 CFU credits.
Programme Structure
The Master in Design Management combines theory and project work over one year. The programme covers the following areas:
- Business foundations: Marketing, business modelling and planning, accounting for creative and cultural firms, and organisation and people management develop an understanding of how creative businesses operate.
- Creative strategy: Creative direction and storytelling sit alongside integrated design practices, design systems and business design, connecting creative decisions with innovation strategy.
- Services and digital experiences: Service design and UX/UI design explore user needs and experiences, supported by artificial intelligence tools.
- Entrepreneurship and sustainability: Start-up business and sustainability processes help students assess market needs and the economic, social and environmental impact of design choices in corporate and entrepreneurial contexts.
