Overview

This course facilitates the student to become a proficient mammography practitioner, capable of producing high-quality mammographic images with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the underpinning evidence base.

The programme does not provide you with a clinical placement. Your employer will fund you to complete this course, or if you are self-funding, you will need to find a clinical placement that will support you. As part of the application process, you need to send a verification form with the manager and mentor signatures, stating that they support your application to study.

Programme Structure

The student will be encouraged to reflect upon their clinical experience and that of the service user journey to gain a deeper appreciation of both and improve their professional practice over the duration of the course. The online learning utilises bespoke elements, the excellent e-Learning for Health resources, and the National Breast Imaging Academy’s expertise to support the overall learning package.As a student on a postgraduate certificate, you are expected to be an independent learner, able to identify your own learning needs and work toward achieving them. Completing the postgraduate certificate will enable you to develop your skills to become competent in performing an imaging technique.
